Hi all! Had a question about buying some after market iron sights for my pregnant salmon.
The front post honestly is fine, but if I'm going to get another rear, then I thought I might as well get a matching set. But I'm very concerned with HOB on some current offerings from multiple manufacturers. Seems that everything these days are made for the AR builds. Got to be a lower profile set of quality sights somewhere.
Thanks!
A pure democracy operates by direct majority vote of the people. When an issue is to be decided, the entire population votes on it; the majority wins and rules. A republic differs in that the general population elects representatives who then pass laws to govern the nation.
Have you looked at the Troy micro-sets? I have them on my Sig556 and like them very much.
If you gents aren't diggin' the factory sights, PM me with a reasonable $$$ and I'll remove the burden from your life of having to look at them.
It will help offset the cost of going aftermarket.![]()

What about the Yankee Hill Machine sights? They appear to be spring loaded like the MagPul ones vs. the flip up Troys. Has anyone used them before?

Yes and no
Let me give you a little more background info on my situation.
The only real reason I'm interested in upgrading the iron sights is that I can't afford a nice "electronic" optic like an EoTech, Aimpoint etc etc at this point. So, I thought if I got a pair of nice iron sights I can still have fun at the range (I know the stock sight is not THAT bad but I just don't care for it). I've seen some videos of some of the Yankee Hill guys at gun shows getting interviewed etc etc and they appear to be a bunch of great people with a great product. The only thing I'm worried about is that the YHM sights will sit too high and be uncomfortable vs the low sitting Troys.
So basically the question is: Will the YHM sights work as well as the Troys or will they sit to high and be "unnatural" with the bullpup design?
Any pictures (If its not to much trouble would be EXTREMELY appreciated)
EDIT: I've looked for total height measurements and can't find any. If anyone knows what they are please post em up![]()

I just opened a new YHM QDS sight package out of inventory and measured the distance from the tip of the front sight to the aspect which would be on the top of the 1913 rail. It measures 1.410".

The Aimpoint PRO I currently have on the weapon has the QRP base and to give you an idea of the height of the optic, I've attached a picture, below. I have no issues with using the Aimpoint in its current configuration on the demo 2K. If I were to install the YHM QDS sights on the weapon, along with the PRO in it's current configuration, the optic/sights would allow me a lower 1/3 co-witness.
Hope this helps.
