Alright guys I've had my fs for 2 weeks now and finally get to shoot it this weekend (well I better shoot it...hard to find decent ranges around here especially when my range is pistol only.) I've just been racking up the accessories and getting that out of the way. Setup so far: Aimpoint micro t1 in larue low mount (allows cowitness of factory iron sights), urban ert sling adapter, tri rail, and magpul rvg. Waiting on my light to come in and last I just have to order some spare parts.
I'm going to sight this baby in at 50 yds like the AR because it seems to be the best all around for the shooting I do. Anyway I was hoping some of you would share your first range experience. How were the iron sights out of the box? Were the pretty close or did they require some adjustment? The aimpoint in the larue low mount perfectly cowitnessed the factory iron sights out of the box so I'm hoping it won't require to much adjustment...
The iron sights on FS2000s are generally very close to accurate right out of the box. Make sure you remember to bring your front sight adjustment tool, though, especially if you are going to sight it in for 50 yards because IIRC that is not what mechanical zero is going to be set to.
There isn't any real trick to sighting in the FS2000 that differentiates it from any other weapon. Get it on paper, adjust accordingly, confirm until you are satisfied.
Did you buy a nice rifle/range bag alongside all those accessories?
I have a range bag that I use for my IDPA matches but I dont have a dedicated rifle case yet...I want to pickup something a little smaller and discreet considering how short the fs is.
