Alright,
WARNING: THERE ARE LOTS OF PICTURES 56K PLEASE LEAVE ON OVERNIGHT OR SOMETHING!
So I noticed on the forum some people were unsure about the pictures in the manual about the field strip and cleaning so I decided to go ahead and take pictures of my field strip and initial cleaning process. Hope you guys enjoy.
1) FS2000 Box and its contents. Lets take a look inside.
Your normal contents involve the FS2000, Lock, Cleaning kit, and a Mag
My box had foam all over from shipping so I just took some Dust off and cleaned out the box and the FS itself.
2) Preparing your cleaning supplies. I went out to Bass Pro Shop and picked up most of the stuff and the swab was from Academy. I had some .223 snap caps to try out but I later found out you should not use these due to jamming issues. Your cleaning kit has most of these supplies but I wanted to use my own stuff.
3) Have your manual ready to go.... just in case....
4) Press the stripping pin through to unlock the frame from the barrel support assembly.
5) Slide the barrel support assembly off frame.
6) Slide Bolt and bolt carrier assembly forward.... and then upward.
7) Now you have the assembly. Next is to remove the switch by pulling down on the rear housing and sliding the switch out.
Remove firing pin by pushing plunger up BUT WATCH OUT BECAUSE THE PIN WILL FLY OUT IF YOU ARE NOT HOLDING ON TO IT.
9) Remove the bolt by pushing up the Bolt alignment lever and sliding the bolt back and turn it 1/4 turn to get to the locking cam. Remove locking cam and take out bolt.
10) Remove gas plug by turning to adverse condition position and then using the pointed tip of the OREA tool (came in your cleaning kit) to push down on the plunger and turn the gas plug more to remove it.
11) Take your OREA tool again and use the pointed end to slide it into the slide rod housing to push out the piston.
12) Remove butt plate to gain access to hammer group assembly.
13) Take the bolt that you removed earlier and remove the axis pin that holds the extractor to the bolt body. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE 2 EXTRACTOR SPRINGS UNDER EXTRACTOR.
14) Time to clean. PLEASE REFER TO MANUAL. I did not take a lot of pictures for this because all you mainly do is oil components and wipe off the manufacturing oil. I included pictures of what parts you should oil and how I cleaned my barrel.
15) Reassembly!!! Alright your almost done. Take your bolt assembly items and ensure that the 2 extractor springs are still there then put extractor on and slide axis pin back in.
16) Reinsert Hammer group assembly back into frame making sure you match the notches correctly. If you do not , you will not be able to install the butt plate back on.
17) Reinstall gas plug and piston. BEFORE reinserting piston make sure that the rings are not aligned so that you do not have a gas leak. Install piston in housing and insert gas plug.
18 ) To put gas plug all the way back on you must use the OREA tool to push down the plunger again and turn the gas plug
19) Grab bolt and bolt carrier assembly and raise bolt alignment lever to insert bolt back in. After bolt is back in , turn 1/4 of a turn to reinsert the locking cam and when releasing bolt make sure that the locking cam aligns with the bolt alignment lever.
20) Reinsert firing pin and lift plunger and then release to lock firing pin back in.
21) To reinsert switch insure that the marking of the spring on the plastic switch is facing the same direction as the spring. Pull down on the rear housing and reinsert switch just like before.
22) Align the bolt carrier assembly with the grooves in the frame and slide it back into place.
23) Now grab barrel support assembly and slide back onto frame. After that push stripping pin back in and your DONE!
It says in the manual to dry fire it after you have put it back together so that is your choice. I did just to make sure everything sounded correct. Hope you guys can make use of this writeup and happy shooting.
It took all of 15 seconds to load. The first 7 pics weren't needed. I don't know if you know this but, I've read a number of times that "800 pixles" is as wide as we should post. I think it's nice of you to take the time to do this for some of the members.
I give it 3 1/2 stars! And the rest of the Judges?

Doh! I will attempt to resize later because its late.
Great job, looking at this first would have saved me loads of time when I first took apart the piston. Much better than the vague pictograms in the manual.![]()

Nice Job!
I made it sticky so this thread does not get lost.
This should help newbies.
Wow! Super Job!
This is great information.
Thank you for your effort Gibenstein!!![]()
Resizing in photobucket. Sorry its going to take some time as there are so many pictures. Resizing at 800x600. I am a new person to the FS2000 so I thought this might help some people. I also noticed some people were not sure of what there FS2000 came with from factory, so that is why I did it from barely opening the box. The cleaning supplies I thought some people might have wanted to know or see pictures of what they need so I included those as well. If you all have any suggestions to this DIY I am eyes and ears to suggestions. Thanks for the comments and hope this will come in use for some people.
awesome!
1 comment, some of the images where it is mostly the black of the gun are a little dark, you may want to brighten them and repost them.
I can try and help if you need it.
Ok resized all photos. Took about 3 hours as I had to individually edit them on photobucket. I will retake some of the dark pics when I do another field strip after I let about some bullets fly at my local range.
Great job!!![]()
Thanks,
