"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." Benjamin Franklin, 1759
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8
FN has been around a long time, since the late 1800's, and anyone who knows anything about guns has heard of them.Originally Posted by wesman66

I'm still amazed at how many people I run into that haven't heard of them. Seems like everyone knows about HK and I rarely run into people who know of FN.Originally Posted by jhs27275
About the only guys that know about FN are the guys behind the counter at gun shops. I was talking to the manager at a local place where I got my FNP-45 transferred to me. He had a 9 and 40 on the shelf and I mentioned I also had a 9 and I loved it. He said "Yeah they shoot great, but they aren't moving because no one's ever heard of them. If they knew how well they shot I'd be moving a lot more of them."

If they know guns they know Mr. Browning.Originally Posted by djv38

Now if they haven't made that connection then I would not call them gun people, or as I refer to them as gun nuts.
And what the hell is HK? Oh yea, that's the company that does not care if it sells to the public or not.![]()
I agree with you. I know a lot of people who have several guns but don't really know much about them or the history. I was a bit like that in high school, but the past few years, I've read up guns and the history a lot.

Wasnt the Stargate tv series making the PS90 a household name?
Even pistol shooters who never heard of FN dream of Belgian High Powers

I picked that up one night and left it for my wife as my christmas list. Didn't work, but has some great write up on their lineup of offerings. Nice article on the history of FN.

Up until a month ago, All I thought of FNH was that it was the "Star Gate" gun. I have owned 50 some guns over the last two 2 decades and never paid much attention to them. I think it was their name "Fabrique", I didn't really ever take them seriously. It also reminded me of "Brut, by faberge".
My friends and I were more into Glock, Kimber, Spring, SW, Ruger.... Good ole american guns(well sort of). I hate to say it but If the movie/series stargate hadn't used them, half the people I know, still wouldn't have given a second look. Ignorance is Bliss I guess(it would have surely saved me a small fortune)![]()

You see in this world there's two kinds of people my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig?
Hey Wesman.....great intro.
To think I just got back from Walmart a few hours ago and missed my opportunity. Hate going to that place but I may have to make a special trip.Looks to be worth the ten bucks.
