The ser. # is embossed on the back of the holster.
This gun was mfg. in1953 It is in great condition. Near NRA excellant cond.
I am unable to send photos
I was approached at a gun show by a dealer who wants me to price it to him.
Assuming it is near NRA excellent condition, what would be a price range?

- commercial assembly began September 1944 from wartime parts. Complete manufacturing from raw materials started in 1946. First imported with BAC markings in 1954 (see Browning HP section). Early (1944-1945) models are identifiable by an "A" serial number prefix and are not fitted with a magazine safety. Starting in 1947, the rear slide bushing was hardened by a new heat treatment process. Other design modifications were added in 1950. Many thousands manufactured for various government contracts.
Add $200-$2,000 for military pistols with crests, depending on condition and variation.

Went Gun Show in Dallas over the weekend, and two dealers said
the retail price was $1400 one offered me $900.
The gun has fixed sights.
$900 would be a good buy price. I guess the blue book info is in the ballpark.
