Just acquired a really nice 1950s Hi-Power with an internal extractor, and on my first range trip it jammed with two diffenent magazines- failure to eject. I suspect the internal extractor's bad but heard they're almost impossible to find now. Does anyone know a source or possibly have a new one they'd sell? really appreciate any help.
Best regards,

I would take this issue to this forum
http://www.handgunsandammunition.com/
And study this site:

Those guys are experts, I have Hi-Powers but they are new.
Thanks, I will check them out. I have a fine Practical but wanted to get an original Hi-Power. So I have this problem.....

You might try Cylinder & Slide.

Browning has links for repair of out of date pistols, you can check the links from this page.

In case some of you didn't follow the topic to the other forum, here's the net result: the only place you can now get the old style HP internal extractors is Numrich at $30.75 (part #473620). Cylinder & Slide no longer makes them because even with the fine ones original spec they made they say the gun chews them up and they can't stand behind them- but they will install one if the customer provides it. Power Custom used to sell them (for twice as much) but stopped as they're no longer available to them, and they said they bought them from Cylinder & Slide. So if any of you have old Hi-Powers with internal extractors and intend to shoot them, you should order several from Numrich soon- youn never know but that source may be closed off one of these days.
So I'm on Cylinder & Slide's waiting list- maybe five months. May as well get it throated and polished and the old mags checked out while it's in there. I may not fire it that much as I bought it for a historical keepsake, but at least I want it to be a working model. My Practical will take the load- I don't anticipate any problems with that fine gun..
