    M249 self regulating piston system?

I heard that the new M249 SAW no longer has an adjustable gas system and has a self regulating gas piston instead. Is the new gas system still a long stroke piston? Can someone post a pic of the new gas system? Thanks.

Mine does not have a regulator on the piston, and the piston runs all way to the gas port.

Here's a linky to the only pic I could find during the 30 seconds of Googleing I devoted to this task:

Look at the barrel on the left side of the pic.

Most SAWs I've seen over the last 4 years have been like that. Even in basic, about half had the regulator, and half didn't.

It's still the same as before, the only difference is that there is no longer a removeable gas plug - it's now built into the barrel assembly. The rest of the system is the same.
