FN FNC- legal auto sears are not too expensive

I was cruising a gun action board and noticed that the legal sears for the FNC can be had for around $3500. Not a bad option, compared to the $12+ for a HK registered sear.

I have never fired the FN FNC, but might be tempted to get one and a sear. What is the FNC like?

if you say FNC, you say sturdy & reliable.

trigger is european military style, so dont expect an AR15 trigger... accuracy is more than acceptable, but kinda impaired by the trigger perhaps? either way, the 3 round burst more than makes up for that.

handguards are kinda ackward at first, but pretty sweet when you get used to them. folding stock is rugged, but not comfortable for cheekweld... the fixed stock is pretty nice.

real FNC magazines are kinda expensive in the US, but it'll function with STANAG mags (though sometimes the mags cant drop free, or cause a few jams, it kinda depends heavily on the magazine)

it's a military rifle, so they didnt care about reusable cases: it dents cases, hard. (on two places sometimes)

the dustcover is downright hypnotic. you'll find people staring at it for minutes on end while you're shooting.

FNC's in full auto are fantastic! Ive got a sear at my dealer after a few range trips with him when I was stuck on what to get AC-556K, M2 carbine or the FNC... I chose the FNC.

You can find some of the sears for as low as 2K, less expensive than the rifles themselfs. It has also been talked about installing sears in the Sig 556 and SCAR. If this is the case you will see the price of the sears Sky rocket like Mac's did.

Im on the look out for a FNC Para now.. Its about 500 bucks to have the sear installed in your lower. the only trouble I dont look forward to is finding parts.. They hardly ever turn up.

I agree, that dust cover is fun to watch

    Lo all.

I have a full auto FN FNC, EoTech 512, with burst pack. Love it. Fun gun, relativly cheap to shoot considering how fast it drops a mag. Had a few issues with a firing pin, but overall nothing horrible.

    Just my .02

Yep, DSA has the new upgraded fireing pins. I just wish I could find some spare barrels.

    I like my C-mag dumps

There are several models of FNC out there.

If you have a semi (second from above) you need to do some modifications.
You need the sear, searpin, searspring, fullauto boltcarrier, burstkit,FA hammer, hammerpawl, pin, spring, safety. That will cost some .

    Full auto

I really like my FNC's, they are like deluxe AK47.
