No, I haven't and that's what threw me for a loop but knowing weapons systems progress from inception, I figured it was/is and early unit.

It appears to be in very good condition from your pictures, so that's a good thing.

Curios... what are you working on, if you don't mind me asking. If you you mind, I understand completely.

Thanks much i appreciate the word.

Chopping and lightening the barrel, and getting it setup for the surefire MG can. The 1 posiiton regulator has me a little nervous as i only have 1 gas port dimension to play with, with this thing so i may be playing the old "Open up the gas port" to get it to run realiably game. Will update.

Hello All I havent been on the forum for a awhile and im sorry for my late reply. What you have there is more than likely a M240B barrel and regulator. The M240b has a single position gas regulator because the m240b has a hydraulic buffer integrated into the buttstock similiar to that of the M249 which eliminated the need for a flex mount (Thank god because i hated that heavy pos flexmount). The hydraulic buffer cant handle the high rate of fire and higher recoil impulse of the position 3 of the the old m240g regulator.

    Single Port Regulator

I wouldnt worry about the the reliability of the single port gas regulator ive shot thousands upon thousands of rounds throse the 240b and never had problems with gas pressure. Ive had extractors break and regulators weld themselves to the barrel but never a sluggish gun due to the port being clogged. But I guess if you chopped it you might be reducing the pressure so I dont know about that.
