Gents,
i just recieved an (appears to be new/test fired only) 240 barrel in for a project i have going on and upon inspection the gas regulator is a 1 position affair. Im used to the three position adjustable regulator and have not seen one of these before.
A little digging around online and there appears to be a brit version of the mag with a single position regulator for use on tanks so im wondering if thats what i have here.
If anyone knows what the hell this is please let me know. Thanks in advance.
Apologize for the shitty batcave pics.
Any markings on the barrel?

Roger,
7.62mm
At top dead center is the following
M P (Magnetic particle inspected i presume)
A24 7 01 12597036
bottom of barrel towards chamber is 630
Right side of gasblock has a strange symbol and 8 and 1 markings
flash supressor has a bunch of numbers which are mirred on the rear side of the barrel changing handle
Also of note the front sight retaining strap works opposite of U.S. weapons...IE; it locks and secures the front sight towards the muzzle vs the other way around.
When i get back to work on monday i can compare it to a bunch of 240 barrels but am hoping someone on here knows whats up.
I stand corrected on the front sight issue...someone installled it backwards.
That symbol look like an arrow, or an antler, or?Originally Posted by 03humpalot

That thing looks like an early MAG-58G barrel to me. Can you take a picture of the handle?
And there should be a proof mark on that thing somewhere near the breech.

Proof mark, just found a "V" stamped towards the breech?
Handle as requested

Okay,
I was incorrect on the designation. It's an M240G barrel assembly. Here's a visual for confirmation.
