    Iron Sights

Yes I am making this topic again

Do you guys think that the Magpul MBUS iron sights would work on a PS90.

Or do you have a suggestion that you KNOW will work. I still have yet to find any that will work on a PS90 TR

    Any help is appreciated

    Magpul MBUS = polymer sights?

They would work as well as any other deployable back-up sight on that short rail ... I would think not worth the $$$ but better than nothing I suppose.

That is precisely what I am thinking. I can't bring myself to pay the roughly $300 for the troy battle sights. Although they would be sweet I just need them as backups for my tri-rail. I may buy these and see if they work, for $80 I can deal with that.

If you can get a set for $80, they'd be well worth a try ... at that price, you could easily sell them off to recoup if you didn't like them. I have a set on my AR pistol now and they work great, although my rail is a bit longer than the tri-rail.

If I had an Eotech XPS and these ironsights on the Tri-rail do you think they would all fit?

While this is not a PS90, but a FS2000 you can see the XPS and the Magpul sights. They take up a lot of rail, even without the magnifier in the picture. Not going to fit all that on a PS90.

Also, I cannot find the picture someone had of a PS90 with the XPS mounted to it.

But things ended up way better than expected, though it took a tiny mod to get there! The tricky thing about the Magpul Sights are the molded rail clamps. Unlike other sight clamps that have expanding sides, the Magpul MBUS do not expand or widen, and must be slid on from the front of the rail. Since the sling mount is just tall enough to keep you from doing this without a bit of work, I included what I did to get things settled in.

The MBUS sites, though polymer, are solidly built, Just as the stock on the FS or a Glock. I wasn't sure about the lack of locking ability in the up position, but after installing, trials, sighting and shooting, I love these sights! They work well with the FS, function and look better than factory. Plus the Price is Killer!

A good polymer will not melt easily when subjected to higher temps. In fact, as you will see in the pictures half way through the post, the light mod I did with a Dremel cutoff wheel didn't harm the sight a bit. No melting whatsoever, sanded particles only, a breeze to work with.

EDIT: didn't need all the photos, and shorten the post.

Do you have a tri-rail? I can't recall. Not many people realize that the USG has notches on either side of the optic for BUIS.
She remembered how 'I managed to get him on one occasion, when I was depressed by the news of one German victory after another and the resultant intolerable arrogance and gloating of the people of Berlin. "What will happen, Herr Professor?", I asked anxiously. Einstein looked at me, raised his fist, and replied: "This will govern!" '

Your original post says tri-rail. Nevermind

I keep returning to the fact that a P90 with irons is like holding a pistol right next to your eye and using the irons to shoot. Such a small span is only good when held away from your eye, right?

I still say it is just as accurate to ghost ring a red-dot optic instead of using irons.

Not only do irons use up all your rail, the span is so short and close to your eye I don't think it does any good.

I agree, I would only use my EOtech, BUT in the event that I lose battry power or lose the sight I would like to have the old standby of iron.

HOWEVER, reading your post made me think that I could use the eotech "window" as the ring sight...? Eventhough it wouldn't be pin-point accuracy it would probably be on target
