After a lot of reading/research/testing on optics solutions for the PS 90, I have decided to make my own.
I really like the stock white reticle scope and in theory what it does for sighting, however the deficiencies are that it's really too tunnel visioned for my tastes or quick location of the reticle. It's also not bright enough as we all know, luckily the REM 3 does solve that issue. The other sticky issue for my tastes is that I find the mounting point of the scope just a tad too low; I either cock my head over to use it or cock the gun over on an angle to get the picture so to speak.
I believe I have the perfect solution. After looking at the Trijicon Reflex 11 24 mm sight I have on my Lage 11 upper, I believe the ideal sight will be to use the ACOG without any mount, machine a small block of aluminum to set down into the 'well' where the white reticle sight mounts and mount the ACOG directly on top of this block, bolted up from the bottom into the sight and the block will be mounted into the PS 90 mount points. The result will be the Reflex sight sitting just on top of the parallel side panels which the side rails mount to and the reflex being approximately 1/2 of an inch taller than the factory sight. This will be exactly where it should be and not up so tall as using a tri rail mount. I'll guess it will be about 3/4 of an inch lower than sitting up on a TR with a clamp mount on the ACOG.
This should be perfect! And the enhanced FOV of the ACOG over the white reticle sight should be just what I would like, with of course the same advantages of a non battery powered system. I have to say that my ACOG Reflex is my favorite site. It's super rugged, able to polarize stray light with the polarizer on it, very nice FOV and with the 12 MOA triangle, extremely accurate out for distance shooting.
I'll machine this block on my Bridgeport and then hit it with KG Guncoat, baked at a higher temp to get that nice almost OD/park gray color. Plus this stuff is nearly indestructible

I am just getting underway with this little project. I'll be starting it later in the week. However once finished, I can post some photos
After days of work on this project, I made up a very nice extended rail which projects out over the barrel to hold the Trijicon Reflex out in the 'scout' position, which is great! Plus I ended up using a standard rail on top and one under the Reflex to mount the laser sight just above the barrel, it's pretty cool. The laser and Reflex are both in line vertically with the bore of the barrel vs. the laser being side mounted and out of sequence with the bore/Reflex making it a much better system. Plus nothing gets knocked around when putting the gun down.
I spent a lot of time machining this mount to mate to the flats of the upper and having it zero with the bore, hence allowing the site to be in the neutral mid point setting before using any adjustments to zero the target. I must say that I am pleased! Will try to post a photo shortly. In fact I may even run some of these off!

The rail is perfect! For me anyway. I hit it with KG Gun coat, and the size is dead nuts for the Trijicon on top and the Laser max Uni-Max laser under and in line with the barrel.
Hmmmm, how does one upload a photo?

Here are some shots I took of the rail with a Trijicon Reflex mounted on top and a Lasermax Uni under
The rail is aluminum with KG Gun Coat
The Trigger is a new AMP Engineering aluminum, black hard coat anodized with KG Gun Coat.
Enjoy!
Sorry guys, I just didn't like the lighting on the photos, so I deleted them until I can take higher def shots with better lighting tomorrow. I'll repost shortly!
I saw the pictures, but didn't have time to post a comment.
Very nice work. The pictures didn't seem bad at all.
Did you make the mount adjustable? Or does ot just bolt up at the mounts?
