Thanks.

Great. But I'm saying the best place to buy one is where you live.Originally Posted by Visitor Q
SOT to dealer transfers take a time. Then the dealer to buyer transfer takes even more time. The best and easiest place to buy one is in State and close by. Unless you have a spare year to kill.![]()
You are still avoiding the SBR section of the forum.![]()
I was told by my class 3 dealer that it would be more for him to obtain and sell it to me than for me to buy it direct. He said I want to buy it out of state to avoid sales tax as well.Originally Posted by jhs27275
Here is the problem I see with buying a used SBR PS90.
1. You have to file the forms and wait... that means you are probably making the guy with the used SBR wait too. That is a snag in what normally isn't a standard gun sale.
2. IT will have the other guy's name (or someone else's) engraved on it. Not a problem for me, but some person's don't like that.
Now certainly you have to wait for ATF approval if you buy a CMMG SBR... but at least cmmg is set up to do that.
I still think the best route is to buy the PS90 you want in the civy version and enjoy shooting it whilst you file the forms and wait. If you can operate a hacksaw you can change the barrel out easy yourself... it is just that the civvy legal shroud will be ruined. IMHO that is not a big deal.
For me:
1. time is money. they way I did it I bought the best deal PS90 I could find... got the barrel and flash hider I wanted, and could enjoy shooting my $2,000 gun while I waited.
2. When I own a weapon, I want to understand it. Doing the barrel myself gave me the willies whilst I was sawing that off... but at completion of a fine do-it-yourself job I found immense satisfaction.
If I would be you... and you find yourself an even "cheaper" miser than me.... buy a used PS90 even cheaper than a new one and then go through the same process. I am surprised at the number of times I find them in gun shops unsold.
Do you live anywhere near State College or Altoona, Pa? I think there is a gun shop there with one used in the rack.

PM me details please.
Do a google on East Coast Gun Sales. They are located in Duncansville, Pa.
I don't care for the guys there, they don't seem to treat their customers well.... but the last time I stopped in they had a used PS90. I don't recall if it was the black ring, white ring, or tri-rail.
Not sure what the price was either. You shouldn't pay anywhere near price for a new one even though I think it came with extra mags and a case.
Why would I even consider dealing with someone who does not treat their customers right?Originally Posted by ick

Walk in, check it out and make sure OK, walk out.
As far as I can see, you are buying an FN product.... not the services of the gunshop. Hey, I understand what you mean... but sometimes you have to get what is available from where it is located, you know what I mean?
Believe me, I wouldn't shop there unless opportunity met desire perfectly.
Fortunately I have a good quality guy shop I depend on as my local guy... but he doesn't have any PS90s, especially used ones.
