Just to clarify for a friend of mine and I...

Because I'm not 100% sure either way.. and I had a friend ask me...

If you buy the USG model.. can you conceivably take it off and install rails should you want to make your own tri-rail?

    Yes.

The rails below were designed and made by a member here Critical Dimensions. I have them from him and they are first class Mil-spec.

If you install a rail on the side of a ps90 and leave the original stock optic, just make sure it has the spacers. I didn't and it did throw my zero way off. It was easily remedied, but live and learn

The top rail in the picture mounts just like the optic does, and the rail can be adjusted, just like the optic.

The side rails really shouldn't interfere with the top rail. If you have a wide optic like an Eotech, then you may not have room to mount items on the side rail, unless they have spacers.

I think this is what mptoledo is talking about?

Yes, the USG and white ring models are exactly the same except for the optic.

I removed my optic before I even shot mine - and I replaced it with a Magazine Parts rail and two Extended side rails (in 2006).

Essentially, it is my own tri rail. Yes

Ah okay then. Thanks guys. I was kinda wanting a USG just because I'm an SG-1 fanboy but I really would rather use something like an ultra dot or whatever.. I don't think I can justify the eotech brand name to cost ratio. :P

You don't have to get an Eotech, I'm sure you understand, but you do have a wide varity of options when you put the rail on the PS90.

Get the USG, then add the rail when ready.

Honestly my USG sight will probably never be used. But it will be available in case my holo goes down and I don't have any other batteries available or something silly like that.

And even then that rail has a built in sight.

And I know there are some crazy accessories out there..

This guy seems to be enjoying one I've never seen before.. I know its a dot.scope but I'll be damned if that doesn't look like a mini cannon hahah. That's just what the PS90 needs an under-slung grenade launcher and a freaking top mounted hand cannon.

Yup and I have one that has the glow dots on it for night time. Those are really nice.

If it's made the right way there is no need for spacers.

I have the CMMG rails and mounting screws, no spacers and no problems.
