Remote for Lasermax Uni-G - What Size

I don't have my PS90 handy but I assume that the 6" remote is the size that I'll need if I'm mounting the remote on the side trigger guard? Just want to order the correct size.

Anyone use the UNI-G and a remote and if so, is it the 6" one (versus the 10")? This will be my first laser/remote so I'm unfamiliar with the setup. I plan to put the laser on my top rail along with my Aimpoint H-1 (if there's room, I have a tri rail PS90).

    Thanks

I don't have my PS90 in front of me, but I wanna say that I got the 10" one. I took a string cut to 6" and checked it out on my PS90 setup. It wasn't going to be quite long enough. The pressure pad is included in the length.

I wrapped mine around the back of my siderail (I have magazine parts extended rails, with spacers on the back) and then underneath the front sling attachment...

Depending on what kind of side rails you have, it can make what I did harder or the same. With the spacers I use with my side rails, I have room behind the rails (in between the rail and the receiver). They aren't solid against the receiver like some side rails are made.

I played with that cord and switch for 2 weeks - I used painters tape to hold it different ways. It took me a long time to find a location for the switch that would not be activated all the time, but only when I wanted. Yet, I didn't want to have to shift my grip too much.

The old BSA laser I pref used on a side rail had a very small pressure switch. I was able to mount it on the front of the stock - and just move 1 finger when I wanted the laser. I really wish lasermax had an option for a smaller switch. But, I realize that it's mostly made for ARs, which have front grips that routinely have slots for pressure switches.

Well I think I'd better do the "cut the string" test and see exactly what I need. Those remotes aren't cheap. My side rails are the TR side rails that were sold by magparts and they are flush to my rail. I'll play around this weekend before I order the remote. Thanks for the info and picture.

yes, might be a good idea. I don't see how the short wire will work unless you drop it straight down - and no one wants it around the area where the mag goes in and out.

But, the string is the best way to judge it. I ALMOST got the 6" wire, and I'm glad I measured it.

I prev wrapped my BSA laser wire underneath the optic rail between the rail and the receiver (I don't have a triple rail, though - I have a standard model with an aftermarket rail). So, there are all sorts of tricks.

Oh, I just re-read your post and you said the remote control was included in the length. That would make the "wire" part very short on the 6". Looks like the 10" will be best but I'll test it out first. Thanks

Like I said, I am working off memory, and I don't have the gun here with me. But, I'm pretty sure it is part of the total length
