    PS90 feed problem

I am having a new problem with my PS90 here that happens with all magazines. About every 10 rounds or so it will misfeed, failing to strip a round from the mag. Immediate action consists of charging it then lifting the mag so the round can seat, reseating the mag then I can continue to fire. Anyone have any ideas on if its something I can fix myself?

    TIA

Are the magazines factory? or did you convert them from 30 to 50s?

how many rounds have you shot through it? i had feeding problems in the first 300 rounds. but i think it was because i over-lubricated everything. it happened on 2 factory mags. when i got home, i cleaned up all the lube and just followed the factory recommendations (trigger pack dry) and removed all the lube inside the stock. methinks that the lube i use was too thick and made the tolerances too much on the moving parts.

never had a problem with misfeeds afterwards (this may have added to the cause of my mags breaking). i should have let it break in properly before over lubing it. also, make sure you pull the charging handle all the way and let it snap back into position. i noticed that it wouldn't reset correctly if i kept holding the charging bolt back to position.

The # of posts about malfunctioning PS90s are very, very few - because it is rare.

Did you clean it the first time?

Call FN and they will fix you right up.

sorry, sittin at the CQ desk bored out of my mind. Probably 2000 to 2500 rounds through it, factory or factory clone reloads (oops lol). Regularly maintained. I am stationed in Colorado. I am going to try a thorough cleaning and see if there are some shavings interfearing, but with last inspection there didnt appear to be any. Same lube pattern I have always done so no change there. I use a plastic safe lube and cleaner. Um, what am I missing? lol
