    Hunting with ps90

I'm curious, (for future reference in the event shtf) what is the largest animal that has been taken with this weapon? I've seen hints that the pistol was used to hunt deer but can't find any evidence of this actually happening.
Looking into reloading also and the Z-MAX bullets seem pretty good for this, there was even a review where someone took down a deer with this bullet. I'm fairly certain a headshot would take down even elk but I would only attempt this in a survival situation, that and semi-automatics can't be used for hunting in Oregon.

It's been used to takedown wild boar.

while i can't speak for other states, in the state i live there is a minimum caliber size to hunt specific game.

i would check the laws where you live and see but in all seriousness you need to know the limits of your weapon in order to make a "humane" kill.

personally, i would NEVER consider the PS90 or 5.7 caliber for hunter deer or large game.

yeah I saw that caliber guide in the oregon hunting regulations pamphlet, I think It said any centerfire cartridge could be used but that was a while ago so I could be wrong. A custom load with a little heavier soft point bullet at least 2000 FPS i'm pretty sure would work. a shot placed between the eyes would definitely do it. I am going to get a larger hunting rifle also, 6.5 creedmoor ruger precision/ or savage probably that I have no doubts will do the job but this question is in case the opportunity ever presented it'self and I had the ps90 on me. My feeling from using it for a while is that it's somewhat underrated and doubted, but again, I've seen 350-400 lbs. boars taken out with a 22lr. so my perspective is this is a far superior round to 22 lr. My grandfather said 22lr was all he used to hunt with before the "new" laws regarding caliber size, he took several deer with headshots.

It was meant as a PDW against man so if your aim is true a wild boar and deer should be no problem.

For shtf i recommend you also have a suppressed 22lr and lots of cci standard velocity to feed it

have a 22 with a threaded barrel and holds 25 rounds, decent scope on it. I could make a suppressor in that situation easy enough, have several thousand rounds in ammo cases with desicant

IMG_3429.JPG built a takedown 22, got the barrel threaded and out a leupold on it. With 25 round mags-- I can shoot all day and be very quiet.
