    Tactical advantages to Olive Drab

I find myself trying to qualify which color is best for my PS90. I guess if I was to be in the woods or the jungle olive drab would blend in more. In the real world that being the urban jungle black stands out. Not to mention that black draws heat and would probably show up more thermally.

The bottom line is that it doesn't change the function of the weapon. That makes me wonder why they would charge $100 more for the black over the olive drab (OD).

Just a thought that ran cross my mind. I don't know if it's a good topic to talk about.

Prices should have stabilized across all colors in the PS90 weapons long ago. If someone is selling some for more than others than I would suspect old stock.

I have a dealer here that's trying to unload PS90 mags for $75.00. When I asked how he dare - he simply said - that's what he paid during the rush of 09.

At any rate - to help you here:

1.black/drab will have the same heat signature
2.drab will stand out less to night vision
3.drab will blend better to urban and/or field deployment

Basically, black is only good for SWAT - since they could care less. They kick the door down, light up whatever moves and party later that night.

Drab is the better(albeit not as cool) tactical choice.

Anything that breaks up the appearance is a good thing if discretion is required. It makes it look less like a firearm, especially from a distance.

That's also part of the reason that you see the cool people on TV always using black firearms when another color would have been a better real-world choice. Black shows up more clearly on camera as a firearm.

I asked at Impact why the difference in price, and apparently they got a better deal on the OD green versions.

I want green, just because I don't have a green rifle yet.

I think I will be selling my MSAR and buying a 2nd PS90. Black seems to be the most prevalent at some of the online vendors I have looked at. I may buy green - not sure yet. I just like the look of the black ones so much.
