I disected a Green Dot Fiber Optic so everyone can see how it works and can compare it with the White Ring Sight and the Black Ring Sight.![]()
This is the Green Dot Fiber Optic Ring Sight. (Top View) The Light collection circle is on top of the ring sight. It works great outdoors but has the same problem the White Ring Sight has in dim or loe light conditions. (You can't see the dot)
(bottom view)
Notice that there is NO rear light collection area.
I pried off the base plate so you can see what is underneath.
A) is the Tritium.
B) is the Fiber Optic line that connects to the Light collector. C) Base Plate (you can see a hole I drilled for the REM T3GD)
Here is another picture without the tape covering.
A) Fiber Optic
B) Tritium
This is where the end of the Fiber Optic would be attached. It is a light collector that illuminates the dot. (I took off the cover and pulled off the rubber covering)
This is the sight picture outdoors. Nice white circle and T Bar with the Green Dot in the center.
This is the sight picture inside the house looking out a window. Notice how dim the circle became and you can't even see the green Dot.
This is the same sight picture with the REM T3GD turned on to illuminate the Dot.
This the sight picture inside the house in low light conditions. Again you can barely see the circle or dot.
This is the same sight picture with the REM T3GD turned on to setting #1
You can now see the dot.
This is the sight picture in total darkness. You can barely see the dot via the Tritium.
This is the sight picture in total darkness with the REM T3GD turned on to setting #1
For anyone interested in the REM T3GD illuminator please go here.
REM T3 GD for the Green Dot Fiber Optic![]()
As always M1P90, very informative and the pictures do say a thousand words.![]()
A pure democracy operates by direct majority vote of the people. When an issue is to be decided, the entire population votes on it; the majority wins and rules. A republic differs in that the general population elects representatives who then pass laws to govern the nation.
I had one and liked it outdoors, but it is utterly useless indoors, so I sold the one I had. REM T3b all the way!!
