Soon to be PS90 SBR owner!

Howdy! I recently purchased a PS90 SBR completed by HDPS (with side rails) along with an AAC M4-2000. I'm still waiting for the suppressor to be transferred to my class III dealer before completing all the necessary paperwork for both. Then I'll anxiously await!

As I'm waiting, I've been researching and picking up loads of accessories, ammo, etc. I've finally, after much debate, decided on an optic. I'll be going with the EOTech EXPS 3, but was having trouble deciding on whether to go with the 3-0 or 3-2. Can anyone weigh in on what option they prefer? I would like to use the PS90 as a jack of all trades if possible; CQB and some longer range shooting. I wasn't positive that the 1 dot would suffice in the 3-0 for that versatility or if I needed to go with the 3-2. I'll also be coupling the set up with the EOTech G33 once that's available in the spring.

Also, I'm looking for a low-profile aftermarket mount so the sights sit fairly low. I know Promoted Pawn has the standard top rail the sell but I'm not too familiar with it.

Any insight on my questions would be very much appreciated. I'll leave you with a couple pics from Ed at HDPS of my PS90. Cheers!

    Welcome to FNForum.

Also, welcome to the PS90SBR club. You will thoroghly enjoy your firearm. What do you sconsider "long range". This firearm is capable out to slightly more than 200 meters, but is best used between 0 and 150 meters. PromotedPawns top rail is the lowest sitting rail that I am aware of that you can put on the standard. Is the sight a "ghost white" or the "black" one? You may decide that if you have the black sight, you may be fine. I had an Eotech and switched back to the USSS sight that I bought a long time ago, but I still have the Eotech on my PS90. It is the 512A65 Ref F. I took it off because I lost the cheek weld due to the hight of the sight. This is the bane of after market sights on the standard.

Don't wait to submit the paperwork. The paperwork goes to two different places and they work at two different speeds. Submit the paperwork for the SBR right now and then submit the paperwork for the AAC. The cost is the same unless your dealer is going to charge you for both transactions.

The platform is a 200 yard weapon by design so a single dot will suffice. Personally, I don't think you'll need the 3X magnifier but to each his own, in that respect.

BTW, Nice touch adding the HK uppers in the pic. Shows the FN unit atop the HK stuff = conquest!

For a comparison, I offer the following.

Thank you sir. Long range for me is anything beyond the general capability of my 9mm's! So anything beyond 100 meters is far for me and my crappy eyes. To be honest, I'm not sure which sight it's coming with. I figured I would just be switching it out so didn't inquire; but, it would be awesome if it were the black.

So is there any way to effectively convert a standard to a tri-rail type so you can regain the cheek weld and use aftermarket sights? I have no idea if there are permanent fixtures preventing this since I haven't held the gun yet.

Good advice on the paperwork. I'll get the SBR started this week...I was just trying to prevent two trips to the class III dealer (~1hr round trip).

The only reason why I'm contemplating the 3x magnifier is because my eyesight is pretty crappy even with corrective lenses, so I'm not sure how good a 1x mag will do at 100+ meters for me.

I can't take credit for the creative picture! That was shot by Ed at HDPS when I was deciding whether to purchase it or not. And thanks for your pic! What sight/model is that and how do you like it?

No doubt! I already invested in 1,000 rounds of SS195; 1,000 SS197; and a few boxes of pre-ban SS190 (just because I could)! I figure I'll have that pile up to a few thousand before I even get my hands on this thing. This wait is going to cause me to spend serious money in anticipation, haha!

You can get a couple of after market rails to put on the sides of the standard. That's as close to a tripple rail that you will come. Unfortunately, the standard with rails is higher than a tripple rail version. There were a couple of after market receivers that modified the receiver and machined a new rail on it but that is a costly adventure. SgtStrykerUSMC has a version of this in the pic seen below.

You may find that the black sight is all that you need. There are also some aftermarket sight light systems for the factory sights. Try looking at this. It is highly spoken of. Reticule Enhancement Module T3 (Orders)
    VictoryOrDeath thanked this.

So on Wednesday I went to the Class III dealer and filled out/mailed the paperwork for my SBR. I got a chance to look at/hold the PS90...so beautiful even though it was still wrapped tight in plastic wrap. I couldn't help it...picked up an AAC Evo 9 for my Glock 17 and threaded barrel to boot while I was there. Like a kid in a candy store. I'll have to go back down to sign off for my AAC M4-2000 once that gets in but at least I got the others rolling.

Picked up some more goodies the other day too:
    Brass Catcher
    (5) 50 round mags (Midwayusa having at GREAT deal on them right now and just got back in stock...$24 for OEM FN version)
    AMP Tactical Trigger
    Promoted Pawn Standard Top Rail
    Promoted Pawn Butt Plate 1.5

    Already have:
    Promoted Pawn Extended Cocking Handles
    Promoted Pawn Mag Doubler
    Promoted Pawn Universal Sling Mount

It will be a fun day of installs once it finally gets back to me! Any other suggestions on must-have mods/accessories for this guy?
