Just wanted to see if anyone might know what is going on. I am reloading my own ammo and am getting short strokes on the first round or two of a mag and then the next 48 are perfect ?load up the next mag and the same thing. I have tried 5 different mags . It does not happen every time but way more often then not and it is only the first round or two after a mag change or after reloading the same mag. I am a perfectionist when it comes to reloading and evey single charge is measured individually. I also know I am not riding the charging handle forward. I pull it and let it fly home every time. It feels like the round is light or like the bolt is not fully cycling when it happens. Anyone else ever seen this or had it happen? Thanks in advance for any and all help.
Does it do the same thing with factory ammo?
It has but not as much. Whats really confusing me is that its only the first round or two and never happens again through the entire mag.
Have you tried another magazine???
Sounds like you only have one.

What kind of magazines are you using fn factory or after market. If you are using after market this could be your problem, I have never had one work right and I tried several different brands. What do you mean by short stroking, the bolt not closing all the way or not ejecting the round and picking up the next?
All 5 are factory FN mags all new and purchased from different retailers. When it happens the first shot feels very flat and does not eject spent case and pick up the next. I manually cycle and the rest of the mag shoots and feels good. Could it be possible it is not going fully into battery and loosing enough pressure that it does not cycle properly thus giving it the flat feeling. If this were the case wouldn't It show other signs like popping the mag up ? The pressure has to be going somewhere. This is driving me crazy. I ran 200 rounds through it tonight and it happened on the first round of all 4 mags but the remaining 196 shot perfectly.
Also wanting to add that I have tried loading the mags to different capacity with as little as 5 rounds with the same result.

To check too see if it is not going all the way into battery load mag all fifty load first round pull mag and see if you can tell if the bolt is all the way engaged if you can't tell by looking then replace magazine fire the first shot find the empty and see if the neck is almost gone, if it is the I would think that the gun is firing out of battery if it appears it is don,t use the gun as it could be dangers. Other wise clean and lube and see if that helps.
A pure democracy operates by direct majority vote of the people. When an issue is to be decided, the entire population votes on it; the majority wins and rules. A republic differs in that the general population elects representatives who then pass laws to govern the nation.
