I'll try group size testing again in the near future but I don't expect results as good due to the inverted chevron reticle of the TriPower not being conducive to precision aiming. I suspect SS197 may be more accurate because the 40gr V-Max is a premium varminting bullet where accuracy is paramount.

    Thanks Tomac.

Is that an amber chevron on the Reflex sight? Do you know why the trend has been to go to amber on sights lately? What was wrong with good old red?

I like the red crosshair on the Compact ACOG. The triangle might be faster for quick shots and OK for long shots, but I figured it would just frustrate me.

What I would like to see someone offer for the PS90 is a reticle with a long range and a point blank aiming point. Sighted in at 50 yards I found myself shooting about 3 inches low at 15 yards. An Eotech is kind of set up for this where you can sight in the center dot for 50 yards and use the bottom of the circle for close range.
You can't take the sky from me.

You're welcome. I have no idea what the amber is about, my TriPower reticle is red and I'm quite happy w/it. It works well enough for distance shooting as w/a 60yd zero shooting 197 I hit the 200m gong by either holding at the top of the gong or using 1/4 down the height of the inverted chevron. At 300m I use 3/4 down the height to hit. At very close range, though, that's where the Eotech reticle was very nice using the bottom of the circle for your POA. I have my laser sighted in at 10yds so at very close range I can use that if needbe. I agree, it would be nice to have a PS90-specific reticle on a decent optic but I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for one (sigh...)

Hehe. I won't be holding my breath either waiting for folks to come up with a PS90 specific sight.

I think I'll shoot off an email to Eotech. I know nothing about the circuitry of the Eotech, but it seems like they could make custom reticles easily.

The older style Bushnell sight U can still buy has a few diferent switchable reticles....

I wish the regular eotech could do that...

OK then. I want a black tri-rail with an Eotech 552, a Lasermax Unimax laser, and an Urban-E.R.T. two point sling

I don't know if you can seemlessly add anything from the other accuracy thread. It'd be a shame to lose any information.

I can't speak for everyone, but I want to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly. That is why I jumped on this thread. Hopefully Johnray is getting better groups now and we hear from him again. If I were shopping for a PS90 I'd want to know what they are capable of on average. If I were to get a "bad" one I'd like to know how to make it better.

    Thanks for the sticky!

Well, I was tossing around which post to sticky. The other active one has less posts and info than this one. U said there were 3? I'll look for the other one...

Can't help ya on that other request, though :P

    accuracy

forgive a poor old rancher, this site is about the limit of my capability on a computer...

if i have this right, i am adding a comment to the accuracy discussion

i got my ps90 from my son who bought it as he was just passing thru weapons to try out. he bought it, shot it (100? or so rounds), cleaned it and then was ready to trade on to the next new thing.

i saw it, grabbed it and paid full price to have it.

i have shot it maybe 40 times, others (friends, hunters, etc.) maybe another 50 rounds. all said it is dead on.

it has the (standard?) optical sights, and i zeroed them to dead on at 40 yards. 6 in the base of a 12 gauge shell in a row was good enough for me. It is an inch high at 70 and thereabouts on again at 100. I do not shoot things more than a 100 yards away, i would not walk further than that to see the results, anyway.

this gun has nothing to do with an ar-15. you feel you might need an ar15, you take an ar15. this gun has only it's purpose in life. that is to be handy enough that you don't decide to leave it behind on the day that you have a headache, you can still just toss it in the truck as you leave the house.

i shoot only the blue tip bullets and in the one instance i have needed it, it performed exactly as i hoped it would on a problem concerning two tresspassing, attacking animals at 40 pounds per and a very expensive pair of my breeding bulls who did not need that particular problem for their overall health. vet bill for rabies shots, and a couple of stitches in one bull's eyebrow: $267. I would be glad to share the bill with whoever owned those animals that should have been kept in a yard or on a chain.

two rounds, two hits, two down, miller time

this weapon has it's place in the world and i am quite proud of the one i own.

    Trentofdestiny thanked this.

    Hey, that's great

I'm glad the weapon works for U and that U like the accuracy.

So far, I've only shot the 197 ammo too (the "blue tip") because that's all I can get my hands on locally.

    Briefly off topic:

Where in Texas are U - I'm in "Central Texas" as well.
