FN SCAR parts availablity - FNH Update

Just ordered the parts in the above post. For California neutered Scar Owners, was around $35 with shipping to replace bullet button with standard mag release. Should be all the parts and be here within 5 business working days. 4/20/11 currently no parts catalog, no bolt, limited parts assemblies, no barrels.

Tangentially related... if I wanted to visit my brother in California and bring my SCAR (he shoots as well), would it be legal for me to buy the parts for the magazine modification and fixed stock, swap the parts out here, and bring the modified SCAR with me on my trip (with the original parts left at home)?

Yep. If you bring it in in legal configuration, you're good to go

I had a confirmation from FNH that SCAR parts will be available to the general public for sale. The weapon will not have to be sent in for repairs - where applicable.

It is now only a matter of stocking, import and logistics. Stay tuned to this station for more updates.
