Gouges on charging handle channel rear

    Gentleman,

At least four rifles that I have seen and unpacked (Limited Edition and standard) have a rather large gouge on the right side of the charging handle channel at the rearmost portion. The rearmost portion is where the channel ovals out. The gouge is on the flat inner shelf, and not the outside of the receiver housing. The gouges are to the bare aluminum and scallop out the area.
As I have cut open the boxes, these marks appear to be from factory. I do understand the accelerometer (?) marks being present on the top of the rail. These gouges are not the same. Anyone (SGT Stryker...) have any ideas what cause these. Thank you for your time.

It's due to carelessness during assembly. That's all. Considering how the guns go through different facilities and countries during the manufacturing and assembly process, I'm surprised that they look as good as they do.

Herstal wants to maintain control over every aspect they possibly can, and in my opinion, the cosmetics suffer.

Actually Skr. Stryker could not be more wrong on this one once again. This has nothing the FNF builds. It's because everyone and his brother wants to take them apart when they see one and the bolt assembly needlessly always crashes into the upper leaving those marks.
Get a a sealed SCAR from the factory and you wont see this I promise you that.

The OP did mention that they were in sealed boxes. Since you have no evidence to the contrary and basically call the Mod a liar, -1 for you.

This so called Mod doesnt even own a SCAR so how would he know. Plus it could have been any kind of tape. I've opened more brand new scares than I can count.
PS I always forget I'm not supposed to question the Dictator's on this forum.

Accelerometer? On a rifle? ... I'm so lost. Is there a story or factoid I'm missing?

I always appreciate other opinions - I tend to learn from people who see things differently than I do.

    With that said.....

How could you know who owns what?

I say it's a good thing to question what others say. I think it helps to question in a manner that allows others to learn, and not just to try to point out that I think my opinion is more correct than the opposing opinion.

Do you find using this forum in this manner to be worthy of your time? I wouldn't spend my time in a place I didn't enjoy.

Anyway, thanks for your opinion on why the problem is occurring. I wonder if it's possible there is more than one reason the problem is occurring?

    That's silly thinking.

You are such a dumb ass. The G-O-rillas who assemble the guns damage them. The charging handle does this when it comes in contact with the upper, at the factory you buffoon. It doesn't happen to every rifle, as some workers are more careful than others. You should read my posts before you open your orifce, queef.

I think you should have a time-out . By the way, how's business at Cabela's? That tan shirt getting tight, is it?

I've forgotten more about weapons than you'll ever know, ya' poser.

    Dork.

FN mounts an accelerometer on the top 1913 rail to qualify the bolt speed on the weapon. As a result, the accelerometer has a tendency to break the finish on some of the guns. imshur posted some pics of my first SCAR that exhibited this damage. It was pretty bad.
