Rit Dye Your FDE SCAR Lower & Stock?

There is a big thread running on another gun board about how easy it is to use Rit Dye on FDE PMags to get them in any color you want. I wonder if the same process could be used on the SCAR lower and stock to get the same result.

Most places would Duracoat your whole rifle for $150.00.

    I'd do that, personally.

    Recoating a SCAR

I just don''t get it. Why would someone modify a $2500+ rifle?

For folks who bought tan scars when it was the only color available but would rather have it be black than tan (without dropping another $2,500 to pick up a factory black one).

    Black Scar

I get that, but doing the entire gun over in black covers all the original FN markings on the rifle which IMHO devalues the rifle.

You could also spend more than what it's worth, have something second rate and then wish you hadn't ! Just sell what youi don't like. Take your licks ! Get what you do want !
