Do you have an FFL holding a SCAR for you?

Not yet....soon. I wanted to make sure I could fix the folder issue.

Thanks for the info! I am in MA and in order for me to have the SCAR the stock must not be foldable or collapsible. Does the "stock pin" screw prevent the stock from collapsing as well?
Thanks!
Not that particular one. I'm not sure how you'd prevent it from collapsing without drilling through the exterior.Originally Posted by Andy T

No, the "pin" as it was described to me will prevent the stock from folding only. I have yet to receive the pin, so I cant show you any pictures...however the people at Lan World said its easy to install, and only takes 5 minutes. You might want to contact them for the collapse issue...they might have another solution.

I think its legal in MI, there are several stores in the area around Detroit selling them. I own one and had no problem purchasing it here.
I do wish they'd be clearer in the law over the length though.
Correct...the SCAR is legal in Michigan, however you still had to go through the registration process due to the overall length issues.
With the pin from Lan World, you can replace the spring inside the side folder to prevent it from folding...thus it becomes a standard rifle incapeable of folding. That is if you dont care about folding your SCAR.

might be able to prevent the stock from collapsing by placing a block in the buttstock (remove the buttpad), which would prevent the release for collapsing the stock from rotating to unlock, etc.

i have the stock pinned and muzzlebrake pinned on SCAR17 since I live in NJ. You cant tell and if I leave NJ, i can eventually remove the pins.
I just delt with this issue a couple nights ago. To block your stock from folding do the following.
Remove the hinge pin. This is easly done with a long allen wrench tapping from the top down.
Next remove the button that opens the stock. This can be done by using a flat blade screwdriver and pushing the button out from the inside area of the stock. out will pop the plastic button and a rather stout spring.
You are now ready to install the button pin or block. basically you need to install anything that will stop the button from depressing. Mine came with a 1/4" screwdriver bit but a small piece of dowling would work and have less rattle. insert the blocking item and reinstall the spring and button. Now that button wont operate you can re-install the stock and hinge pin. This can all be removed later if desired. This is a very easy process.
