Progress report;

28 July 2010 - Army, Navy, and USAF FOIA requests sent, return receipt requested

1st week August - Army and USAF delivery receipts received

19 Aug 2010 - Initial reply from Navy, they assigned a case# and have forwarded the request to the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane

23 Aug 2010 - email from the Army telling me they were transferring my request to the US Army Special Ops Command at Fort Bragg

24 Aug 2010 - letter from NSWC Crane, they have put me in the que for processing, told me they probably will not be able to meet the statutory 20 day deadline, and rejected my fee waiver request

26 Aug 2010 - letter from USASOC Ft Bragg, I'm in the que and was told they won't be able to meet the 20 day statutory deadline for processing

The Army request was forwarded from Ft Bragg to the US Special Ops Command at McDill AFB a couple of weeks ago.

No other updates at this time.

UPDATE:

I received a letter of receipt confirmation last October from NSWC Crane about my FOIA request submitted last summer.

I received an update phone call from NSWC Crane today about the Navy FOIA request. Very nice lady, just a courtesy call informing me that my request was forwarded to them by NAVOPS and they have processed it and forwarded my request for approval back to NAVOPS, which is estimated to take 6 more months. She then asked if I was still interested in the information.

At this rate, all the Mk16 and Mk17 and SSR info will be leaked through other sources way before the FOIA comes through.
