I wear the 1st ID combat patch proudly! My unit was attached to 1/4th Cav (Anvil troop) at FOB McKenzie, Iraq, 2005. Good memories of a great unit.
1/4 cav, I had some friends there, I was in D BTRY, 1-5 FA. Was in Iraq 06-07. We did convoys...Dodged hot wired artillery instead of sending it...Can you see the irony...?

Yep we were back door drafted as "infantillery, the transvestite of battle" too. Didn't touch a howitzer the last 3 years of my enlistment. Good experience and started a great interest in small arms for me though.

Rifle Shooter Magazine ran an article that seems to state the SCAR program has received a full thumbs up. Sure is a lot of conflicting info flying around. The aritcle looks like the FNH press release. They date the release July 30.

That's what you get when the King puts on the Queen's clothes. Job gets done, but not as pretty.

I don't care anymore if they have canceled it or not. The way I look at it is if they did, then I will have a better rifle than the military. Its always nice to have the cutting edge. Even if other people want to subscribe to bullsh--
May God grant us the wisdom to discover the right, the will to choose it, and the strength to make it endure.
