Problem with the new Surefire Mags

Turns out they won't deflect bullets.



I was excited to test out the new Surefire MAG5-60 quadstack magazine in the SCAR with an inaugural sixty round mag dump.



But that feeling quickly changed to disappointment after I couldn't cycle more than three to four rounds at a time.



All of the malfunctions were Failure to Feed.



The rounds would get hung up on the feed ramps and pretty mangled in the process.



That disappointment didn't take long to turn into frustration. So I decided there must be a better use for this magazine: target practice of course!



I've seen both Chen Lee and Travis Haley running the Surefire mags in the SCAR with out issue, it's entirely possible this was an isolated incident. Regardless, I won't be using these magazines again any time soon.

That's awesome, expensive mag used for target practice. A few members tried them and ran into issues as you mentioned.

I had the same problems with mine in 2 different Scar 16's, one suppressed the other std. Worked worse in the suppressed gun.

I too found another use for my expensive Surefire 60rd mag..........




..................it runs perfect in my 6940, and LMT!!!!

I'd have tried to get my money back before blasting it. But I'm cheap.

Damn, got one a few months back, but haven't had the opportunity to use it yet.

I hope it works, if not, it'll be the first Surefire anything I've had that's has had a malfunction.

You all just saved me from buying one today. Anyone know what the problem is with the mag ? Is it the follower or something that can be modified by the user to function?

The feed lip geometry is off a bit.
