After a battle with my department and then the Sgt Major (Wife), a decision had to be made. I lost the battle with my departmen on continuing to carry the 16 for duty and was already set to buy a M14 EBR. Well necessity dictated that I get a new duty carbine and I was set to scrap the 308 project all together when Sgt Major said those magic words. "why don't you sell yours for a new rifle to work with and then buy the bigger one after we finish our taxes, you know the one just like yours that shoots the bigger bullet"
So the 16 is outbound in favor of a departmental approved LWRC , and in a few months a new FDE 17 will find its way home
