SCAR16 question

I just picked up my SCAR16s tonight. Really a neat gun. Looking forward to firing it Friday.
I have a question. On both sides of the upper receiver there are plastic pieces that are sort of ramped
There are three screws in it. It's gotta be for something. It has three screws in it. The screws on the ends
appear to be a little larger than the center one so I'm thinking the outer ones are for something to be attached.


I attached a photo that shows the piece I'm referring to.

Those are the rear barrel supports. The larger screws you are talking about are the rear screws that attach the barrel extension to the reciever. I don't know the exact nomenclature right off the top of my head.
