    SCAR 16S Bolt Disassembly?

I have a new bolt and barrel combo for my 16S that I would like to start using. I would like to be able to double check the headspacing before taking it out this weekend, but I have read it's not a real good idea to disassemble the bolt completely. Has anyone stripped the bolt down completely? I remove the extractor and ejector on my AR's all the time, but I have not been able to find any details on the SCAR bolts. Does anyone know if they disassemble the same?

Any help or links would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

No, the SCAR bolt does not disassemble the same as an AR bolt.

You do not need to remove the extractor and ejector in order to check headspace.

The extractor axis pin retaining ring is a "one time" use item. Remove it, and you may as well throw it away.

    Hope this helps.

My headspace gauge is cut to clear the extractor, so I can check headspace without removing the extractor. Others (like my AK gauge) are not and may require the extractor to be removed for a good reading.

It's not trivial to get the extractor out of a SCAR bolt. Getting the new retaining clip installed ain't easy either.
