The laws of supply and demand will eventually do the trick so long as legislation stays out of the way.

Nowhere did I say anything about the " average " person being able to buy SCARs. IMO, the " average" gun person doesn't spend $2500 on any single gun. . I agree about the administration causing the rise in prices by way of supply and demand. People are scared, and buying up the supplies, causing the demand to go up concurrently with supply dropping. That's economics 101.
I'll disagree, respectfully of course, with your statement about people who don't usually buy guns, who are in a different tax bracket than us, buying these SCARs at the obnoxious prices , feeding the monster we call capitalism ( which I'm all for ). Lets look at the number of SCARs sold at those high prices. Gunbroker is one of the resources where we could gage the quantity. How many were actually shipped in the first round? The highest number I saw was #122. For this threads purpose, let's say 200 were shipped. We all know there are A LOT of people out there who are gun guys who spend a lot of money on weapons. Look how many registered sears there are, and there are always people spending over $15k for those. If every SCAR shipped sold for for $8k, which we know didn't happen, that's still a drop in the bucket in the amount of gun guys who would spend that much money. Am I making sense? I'm tired and I can't tell if I'm getting my point across..![]()
Gotta go rest, beat from a day on light duty!

Keep in mind the sucess of the SCAR has NOTHING to do with civilian sales. It was not built, nor is FN intending on it being a competitive gun to the AR platform. it is a purpose built infantry gun to replace the M4 in every way. if civilian sales stop tomorrow, the SCAR project will still be a large sucess for FN. thousands of SCARs have been in world military hands since 2003, and FN ships 200 civilian guns and you guys are running up the red flag.Originally Posted by devildoc

Hahahah These prices are rediculous.
Some azzhat is asking $8K for a SCAR-L on the ar15 forum.![]()

And he wants people to stop IM-ing him about the price.![]()
Tanners has them for $2500 BUT they have a list, and i missed getting on it by one day![]()
He told me to check this forum for when they will be taking deposits again, but i'm not certain where
Ray deals with the "other" FN forum, not this one.Originally Posted by James00

They are nice guns, and for those who can afford them they'll be getting a nice gun, but I just don't see what it offers over the Robinson XCR.
My XCR has been 100% reliable, it's easy to take care of, and it does pretty much everything the SCAR does, all for $1000 MSRP less.
I'm not bad mouthing the SCAR, FN makes EXCELLENT firearms, but I think it is just going to be a niche gun for those who can afford them and doesn't offer much more than the XCR or other designs.
Yeah, XCR is great--but it's not a SCAR.
The SCAR is only a bit more when you compare all the additions to get them equal (as shown in a thread by ITstock earlier this year).
I saw them drop down to $4200-4500 then they went back up to $5800-6000. Not as many listed on GB like last month thats for sure.![]()
