    SCAR Anodizing

Anyone ever have an issue with the anodizing on their rifle, and if so, how did FN resolve the issue?

Two SCAR 17's. The finish on one is perfect, and the other has anodizing voids behind each picatinny rail slot.

I wouldn't sweat it AoO, this is hard anodizing and these are combat weapons not pretty safe queens.

Had the same problem, took a q-tip with some clp and ran it through each 1913 slots and those grey/silver smudges wiped right off

    Bingo! Worked like a charm.

    Thanks, Fellas.

Anodizing on mine is fine. Although it appears weak/thin.

You're referring to the dye saturation as the human eye cannot possibly determine the buildup (thickness) of the process.

Those aren't anodizing voids. If you look closely you'll see they they are either directly in front of, or behind, the T markings.

That is some residual laser etching from when the T markings are etched on. I have 5 scars, 4 of them have this and one doesn't. So it's far more common that not.
