    ACOG for SCAR 17

Hello fellow FN owners. New member to the forum here. This is probably just beating a dead horse, but I'm trying to decide on the best model of ACOG to put on my SCAR 17. I have two other rifles for long distance shooting (7mm mag and a 270) so I'm not really in need for my SCAR to be a long distance rifle. I shot one of my buddy's SCAR 16 with an ACOG, but his reticle was Chevron without any BDC. I loved it but have not been able to find any such reticle in my search for an ACOG. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have the TA11G308 and I like it. It's green cross hairs with BDC to 1000 meters. I had my RMR on top of it and didn't like it so I got a 45 degree offset and I am still up in the air if I like it. If I decide I don't like it I may ditch the entire setup and go for an elcan. So I guess the only thing I don't like about the acog is that it is a fixed sight. There is plenty of info on trijicon website as well as sight picture options.

Have never seen or heard of a chevron reticle without a BDC below it? Regardless it's my favorite ACOG reticle and acquires fastest for my eyes. I would run a TA11E on my 17 if I didn't already have an Elcan.

TA11E red chevron with BCD. The lower two points of the chevron equal 19" at 300 yards. The 19" is the average width of a humans shoulders.

How difficult is it to find your target within 50 yards with the fixed power of 3 or 4?

Also, how accurate does the bullet drop compensation tend to be with the ACOG scopes for 308? And what factory loads are the best with each reticle?

Unless my memory is failing me, it didn't have a compensating reticle. I could be wrong though. Have they ever made such reticle?

Do you know what loads that reticle likes through the SCAR?
