    maybe im missing something something but OPs pictures shows wear on the top of the carrier and not the bottom part which you are pointing out for stress fractures

    The photos of SCAR 17S provided by commercial end users are not of high round count weapons.

    The topic of this thread is bolt carrier wear. Photos are examples of recently purchased weapon's bolt carriers.

    What can be done to mitigate this possibility? Lube heavily around there?

    You also said "lately"...is this a problem particularly of recent production?

    A little more specific is appreciated. Recently bought my 17s brand new about a month ago. So to be clear this is a new production defect? How do I asses if it's a problem in mine? Is this covered under FN warranty? Thanks

    Why would I state what it shouldn't be? That makes zero sense. Measure your wall thickness and then compare the value to .060"...
