I was at the range today and was shooting my Scar and a few other rifles including one of my Scout 308's. Out of curiosity I thought to try the hunting loads I use in my Scout in the SCAR.
Basically the load is the Varget load printed on the can for 165gr-168gr bullets using 165gr Partitions stuffed into Lapau brass. They were long enough that they barely fit into the SCAR mags.
At 100yds the first 3 shots went into 3/4". That would be good peformance from your average deer rifle with a 2.5-10 scope much less for a Battle rifle and an unmagnified Aimpoint. A 165gr Partition will do just about hunting I need to do with a 308.
I don't think I've found anything that didn't shoot at least pretty good in the SCAR 17.
I love this rifle!........................................DJ
