It's a little tighter but doesn't make the gun cockeyed when hanging or feel strange when in firing position.

That is a great option, the only other one I could come up with, on the cheap, was to wrap tubing around the contact area.![]()

You see in this world there's two kinds of people my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig?

The right way to go.
Dirty guns are great, but FN sling loops on my M249, M240, and Scar are still just aluminum. and a steel hook is gonna rape the $hit out of em'.

The FN tac sling has yet to do anything noticeable to my SCAR and I use it a lot. It has elastic covers that pull down and Alm clips.

True. But though mine isn't a safe queen like most of us. It still is metal on metal contact.Originally Posted by FullAssault
Every single FN weapon I've dealt with had aluminum sling points. Not a great deal IMO.
You should see my jimmy-rigged para-saw m249. I had to use 550 cord, and huge zip ties, and I had Cherries aka abrasions on my booty the whole last tour in Iraq from carrying it.
My gunners M240 in our gun truck is almost there...being worn through.

Those Blue Force Wire Loops are $20 each! I can buy a new sling for the amount I need.
Appreciate the responses guys. I may try the paracord / tubing idea.

Rubber surgical tubing on the clips instead of para chord may also work very well; albeit, I have not tried it yet--but soon when the clips arrive.
I was looking in the plumbing section at lowes today. I don't know how long the regular hose/tube would hold out though. I did check out the reincorced/pressurized tube, but it looked way to thick.

I use heat shrink tubing that I get from marine (boating) suppliers. Get the kind that has adhesive inside, and double layer them. I use gator claws, not mash hooks, and I run the elastic snubbers down over the gator claw to keep it quiet, and to keep it from flopping around. Use a heat gun to melt the heat shrink marine tubing. One box costs $7.50 and it works great. If it wears through you'll get a metal-on-metal grind to warn you to melt on a new tube set. Works great!
