So what's the different between the FNP and FNX Tactical 45?
I was actually looking to pickup an FNP T 45 Soon...
I think it matches the SCAR in FDE better...check out this sweet little bit of tactical goodness...
I know more than a few of you traditionalists just threw up in your mouth...but an FN45 in FDE with a Doctor and an Osprey is a pretty little shooter. I tried to find some better pics of if but couldn't. There was a nice spread in American Rifleman awhile back that had some great shots. Of course I guess you could get the same rig in all black.
The only difference I am aware of between the FNP45T and the FNX45T should be the mags. The new FNH2012 catalog under the Accessories section, page 145, lists both the FNP45 mag (shown) and the FNX45 mag (not shown).

What would make the FNX mags better? What was wrong with the FNP mags?
There is nothing wrong with the FNP45 mags it's just that their internal dimension front to back is slightly shorter than competitor 45 mags. This is OK until you run into ammo like WW230 ball which does "occasionally" run overlength according to SAAMI specs. Any round in the mag that is too long will cause the stack to bind up and cause a ftf. I do not use WW230 ball. Never had a problem with Federal AE, PMC, or S&B that I use. If you are a reloader you can run your WW230ball back thru your bullet seating die to shorten the length to 1.26" which should be OK. The FNX45 mags are supposed to be a little longer internally to solve this problem and thus will not interchange with the FNP45. If you have a FNP45 just stay away from Winchester Whitebox 230fmj and you should be good to go anywhere!
Between my FNP45 Tactical and my FNP45 USG I have over 4000 rounds downrange. 2 failure to feeds in all that shooting, my wife limp wristing was one and the other was a bad commercial reload. They've both fed everything from Corbon 185gr JHP+P to 230gr ball with no problems. Great guns.
A little family picture.

They changed the mags on the FNP-45T's already for the overlength issue. To Further I have a few hundred of WWB through mine with the original mags, no issue![]()
