considering a 18 " barrel`

I talked to High Desert, they said they could make me a 18 inch barrel from there 21 inch they are selling, of course still going to be almost 800.00, trying to decide whether I want to pay the $$ for 40 more feet per second, to me for an all-around 308 rifle that is a good length.

my question> anyone used these barrels? How is reliability and accuracy

I'm not in your shoes but I'm asking myself right now...

Does my gun shoot like poop? Maybe a new barrel is what I need and I'll be able to get it the exact length I want! (If you have a straight shooter I'd second guess farting with it for 2 more inches)

Will FN be making 18" SCAR17 barrels available? Maybe I can get one of those and not have to have one chopped second hand. (perhaps wait and see what the available FN barrels actually end up being in length and price before you jump on this one)

I tend to make quick decisions about firearm and accessory purchases. Maybe if you sleep on it for a few days you'll let your brain work it out. I doubt a 21" scar barrel is going to jump off their shelf in a couple days.

I got more info, they use ER Shaw barrel blanks, I can not justify 800.00 for a Shaw barrel, so that's a NO


My intent was to accurately extend the range of the rifle to 900 Meters, that's the range I have here

$800 for a Lilja, Obermeyer, Hart, etc. - yes.
