    Dry Firing

    Please excuss my ignorance if this is a dumb question but is it ok to dry fire my Scar 17?

    Most modern firearms are designed to safely dry fire. The Scar 17 being a centerfire rifle, and of modern design it is ok to do so.

    Thanks. I know when you have the mech out you don't want to pull the trigger so that it slams forward but I was not sure when the gun was assembled. I figured it was ok, but I am glad I asked.

    i'm sure you always practice gun safety, but i'm going to use this as an excuse to remind myself of some routine safety practices. even though you know your gun is not loaded and you are simply "dry firing", ALWAYS keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. ALWAYS
