7 SCAR 17s FDE mags on GB

Just saw this on GB. 7 sets of 5 FDE mags. He has $300 BIN for 5, and has 7 sets available. I emailed him to see if they come with the boxes as well.

It's only for (5) magazines. The quantity (7) is how many packs of (5) he has - if that makes sense. All told he should have (35) mags....

Ah, that makes sense. I guess i was a little slow earlier when I was looking at it. I guess $60 isn't as bad as those going for $125 and $175. Regardless of supply and demand, those guys need slapped in the mouth.

There was a thread from a while ago about the magazines from this seller possibly being converted FAL magazines but that thread by the end was a little sidetracked and I never saw a firm answer either way. I would love to purchase a set of 5 mags, so if anyone has any experience of these mags / seller I would greatly appreciate it.

His feedback is positive for several of the mag purchases, so one of two things (1) people are getting factory, imported 17 mags or (2) he has a bunch of shill buyers posting up positive comments. I would hate to think it is the latter.....

I noticed he has 2 other auctions going for FDE mags for $80 a piece as well. I don't like the fact that he's selling them as "new" but doesn't have the boxes for them. Makes me wonder.

Here is the thread I mentioned about the magazines supposedly being FAL magazines but that thread was left a little open ended / side tracked. I'm new to the board, if any of the board veterans wouldn't mind stepping in and explaining how it was proven to be "fake" that would be great.

The guy that was commenting owns marksmen.com. He has scammed a few members in the past.

From his own mouth "Lol! Yes fde scar mags are pretty much painted fal mags. The mag in the pic is a scar mag pulled out of the the factory box."

I still find it hard to believe these are painted FAL mags. The way the guy states "these are pretty much painted FAL mags" seems to imply he just feels the SCAR mags he is selling are like FAL mags FN painted to match the FDE SCARs, not that he is selling painted FAL mags, and that the SCAR mags aren't really anything above and beyone a FAL mag. If they were FAL mags - where did he get all the baseplates from as I've never seen the baseplates for sale as a stand alone item. I just can't imagine a dealer going through ALL that trouble to pass on something he knows is not a factory SCAR mag without some form of retribution in the future.

The guy is a scam artist. He runs auctions from 2 different registered users on GB and has scammed before.

I wouldn't trust him to piss on me if I were on fire.
