Scar 17S with machine markings in lower receiver WTF????

I just got my NIB Scar 17S. I go to disassemble it and found what looks like machine markings that have ground down a portion of the magazine well including the pin. Is this normal and if so does anyone know why it's like that? Also, my rear sight has zero positive locking when flipping the aperture (it will flip up/down and not lock into either position). I assumed this was normal until I went to a local shop and played with the one they had which would lock/stay up or down until sufficient pressure was used to change it. Let me know your experiences. The pin being ground down is normal. They're imported with a pin in the magwell to prevent a magazine from being inserted for import/export compliance. It looks like they did a sloppy job of grinding yours down, though.

The rear right should definitely click into position and not be loose (at least on my 16 it does).

I will have to look at my 17 in more detail after work but it is shaved like yours.

Thanks for all the replies. After talking with FN it looks like I'll be shipping the rear sight to them to be fixed (would have been nice for them to sip me a replacement with a prepaid return envelope).
