    FN SCAR® Barrel Assemblies

This is what I get in the news letter. Has anyone actually seen these available to the public at large?

The FN SCAR® barrel assemblies are cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined MIL-SPEC steel barrels with front sight assembly, gas block assembly, gas regulator, gas piston and flash hider installed. Available in short lengths for reduced weight, fast handling and confined space maneuvering; standard lengths for replacement of existing barrels; and long lengths for increased velocity and extended range capability. Assemblies can be easily installed by the user with a Torx® T25 and 62 In Lb torque wrench and are ready to shoot without headspacing.

Haven't seen them available to the public at large; but you can order from Stryker Ent. With a deposit.

I wonder what the price point is on the longer barrel...

Originally I had decided I was going to get a 20" barrel for my SCAR but at ~$1,500 now I just do not believe I'd be getting that much value for my money. At a $1,000 or less I'd do it but I think at $1,500 FNH is really stretching the profit margin a bit too much.

While I agree the price may be high - I feel the price is where it is as you do get more than just a barrel since it is a complete barrel assembly.....besides who ever said owning a SCAR was cheap?

So will the 20" barrels be available now too? That extra 4" would have added 200-300 yards capability to my 17 at the class I attended. I could almost justify the cost for that.
