    My new FN SCAR 16S

Well, here she is! This is about all I'm going to do to her until I get enough money for the Aimpoint 3x magnifier with the LaRue FTS mount...And maybe the Troy metal hardware when it becomes available...

    Nice

How's that mag work and are you able to pull it apart?

Looks good. What mount did you go with? Is that going to line up with the fts mount?

    I like it

I'm not too sure how the mag works because I haven't fired it yet but I can say they are HEAVY! Like 3 times as heavy as the GI mags...and I used the LaRue Tactical "NV" height with COMPM4s because it is PERFECT for "absolute" cowitness and yes, it will line perfectly with the LT649 "short"....I had to troll this forum for three weeks before I came up with this setup...I've seen people use the HK height but this wouldn't let me use the FTS magnifier or have the "absolute" cowitness...I hope this helps!!!

Oh and Dan, no they cannot pull apart...but from what I've read all you have to do to clean them is run water through the while they are upside down...I dunno...but the next time I go to the range I'm going to drop one in the sand and beat it up just to see how well it works in a "dirty" environment...I heard great things about them so I thought I'd try them...another plus (for me anyway) is that these mags don't drop...I know, I'm probably going to be told I'm stupid for this but I don't like my mags to drop free...I had an operator tell me once that the "only time that a mag should drop free is if you are in the sh*t because if that mag drops and breaks or comes apart, you're now down a working mag and you don't know when you'll be able to get another one..." So, I like the ambi-mag releases on the SCAR because now I can use my non-firing hand to release the mag and pull the mag with the same hand...I'll tell you more after I beat the crap out of one...

    Cool

Haven't heard any reviews on them yet and was kind of wondering how they would compare to say a P-mag.

    Looks good Robert.

    The rail panel covers:
Who's the maker, are they a tight fit, where'd you get 'em, and how much did they cost?

I'm needin' some like this little guy wantin' a drumstick:

I still have the one one the right and would like to cover the rails with good quality units.

    SgtStryker,

    My name isn't Robert....

Robert A. Heinlein is the Author of "Starship Troopers" and of my quote....

Sorry, I'm a college guy and I read a lot...

Anyway, those rail covers are the TangoDown SCAR rail covers the two on the bottom are the 2" covers that come in a pack of two and are $13 and the ones on the sides are the 4.125" ones and are EACH $14...And if you want to do away with the vertical grip (god only knows why because from what I have heard that lower rail gets HOT!) you can get the 6" panel for another $14....And I bought these all at www.bravocompanyusa.com

As for fit...they are a little loose, but I like them like that personally...they don't fall off when you smack it around but you aren't jacking up your knuckles trying to get them on either...to me they are in the "Goldilocks zone"...not too tight but not too loose...And my name is Bryan....maybe I should amend my signature block....

    Thanks Robert.

I'll check Bravo, but you say they're loose. They don't rattle do they?

I don't read fantasy. As a matter of fact, I don't read much of anything anymore.

After, The Creature, Global Tyranny, and a few hundred other eye openers, I got my fill.

I do watch a lot of cartoons though. Freddy, from 'Back At The Barnyard' is my favorite. That has to count for something, doesn't it?

Peck is on the left and Freedy is on the right.

    HAHAHA!

    You kill me man!

    My name is BRYAN! Ugh....

Anyway...they do not rattle...If they would have rattled I would have HAPPILY shipped them back to BCM quick, fast, and a hurry! All the panels have tabs that lock them into place and eliminate just that...
