Could you please tell me what kind of pistol grip you installed and was it a pain to fit the scar, looks great.

    Thanks

    Hello

I installed the Magpul MIAD on mine. It was very easy its just like an AR-15. Only difference is that you cant use any of the ducktail back strap.

I have one of the Hogue grips from Hi-Desertdog. They mill it out to fit just right!

Looks like FN still did not mod the lower grip tang on the black SCARs as Spooln has a slight gap between the trigger guard and the edge of the MIAD.

Spooln....what happens if you try to push the MIAD grip forward to get it to be flush with the trigger guard? On mine, it would drop the MIAD down 1/8" from the top of the grip to frame.

I took a 6920 grip tang and made a paper template of it and compared it to the SCAR's grip tang. SCAR's tang diagonal flat is 1/8" too long. Once that is sanded down, the any grip should fit.

sorry it took me so long to reply. I tried to adjust it when i first installed it and no go. i had to take out ol faithful the dremel. you are able to get a closer fit with modify the ducktail strap. But you are right they did not change the specs on the black scar for the lower. Oh and dont sand the grip just the ducktail there is noting you can do to get a closer fit.

    Spooln,
Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to experiment with a MOE instead of a MIAD again.

Yup. I did the same thing. Filed down the tang a bit, and put on a MIAD. I used the the no-duckbill back strap, but you can make the larger straps fit with a bit of filing on them. SOOOOO much better than an A2.

Oh, and it's not true that you can't file the grip to get it to fit better.. I just used a small flat file to take some off and make the grip section fit up closer to the lower reciever.
