Awesome collection. Just out of curiosity, what are the first two digits on your SCAR's serial #?

Interesting.. it's just confirmation that upper/lower receiver color combo's have changed again.

First 1000 "Gold" SCAR's had matching tan lowers and butstocks with a very reflective upper receiver hence the nickname.

#10-13XX guns had the same color lowers but a much better matching upper receiver.

#13-16XX rifles came out with dark brown lowers and greenish almost olive drab looking upper receivers.

Now it looks like #16XX and up feature the same dark brown lower, but we're back to the light tan uppers. So far the butstock color has never changed.

The variance has to do with the anodization process where every batch will come out differently. Based on the patterns seen, I would guess FNH is dipping SCAR receivers in 300 piece batches while slightly adjusting the mix each time.

OK-Thats just cool! I have seen a bunch, but never paid any attention to variations in the color. One thing though, the serial number has three digits behind the 16, not two. Does that mean they are up to 16,000 so far?

They are up to 6000 and change. The 1 was there from the start
