Picked up my new 17s last week and finally had a chance to shoot it today. I was amazed at how nice it shoots. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic

How do you like that ACOG on there? That's a 3.5 right?
-TH
Yup, its a 3.5x
I really like it, much better IMO over the 4x32 ACOGs for the more generous eye relief especially on a 308. and your only sacrificing .5x magnification which is negligable
I find it about perfect for my needs as a battlerifle set-up, The Dr Optic on top isn't really necessary but it is slightly faster up close and I am not that good using the Bidon Aiming Concept for up close so I kept it on there
What kind of ammo did you shoot and how did you like it? Awesome setup btw!![]()
Contrary to popular belief, I know exactly what I'm doing.
Nice setup![]()

Looks great. Crazy how different the shades are in the sunlight.
I shot 3 types of ammo thru it today, most was Radway Green Surplus, (about 150rnds), some Federal XM80 and I threw 10 rounds of FGMM 168s thru it to see what accuracy I could get,Originally Posted by Kev
After I got it zero'd I only shot a few strings for groups (5rds) at 100yds and surprisingly the XM80 performed the best with a approx 1.5" group with 3 rnds in one hole. The RG also performed decently but I was surprised, the FGMM 168 SMK was all over the place.
I wasn't really concentrating and am still getting used to the rifle so I think a better shooter would cut my groups in half.
After I did this, the fun started as I set up a few targets at 50 yds and engaged as rapidly as I could. I can't believe how smooth this rifle handles for a 308. Even with removing the PWS brake and putting the AAC FH on, the recoil impulse is straight back like a gentle shove with very little muzzle rise
Thanks for all the compliments guys
wait till you put a can on it. Then the recoil is like a kitten![]()
Hopefully AAC will eventually offer the SCAR can to the public
How'd the Radway Green do compared to the XM80? I'm currently using XM80C as my go-to round, but I found a place that sells Radway Green on links for a way better price. Had mixed results with 5.56 RG, though so I'm a bit leery.
