I just managed to scrounge up the finances to make my rig night capable. I just thought I would give you all a little eye candy. lol

Of course I am compensating for something.... If I could kill something at 300 meters with my c*ck I would not need a gun!
awesome
Does your PVS14 have the built in illuminator? Or is that the illuminator you're running on the top rail in front?
I'm not a NV expert, but from what little I do know, It is not healthy for a PVS-14 to be mounted on a .308 cal rifle
Thanks for the compliments, guys.
@Gos: I do have the IR switch on the PVS-14 and I also have the illuminator, which is much better. The Surefire grip-light is a V-Series so it also can illuminate in IR with an LED bulb. It sure does brighten up a room. lol
@15ICAM: Yeah, man! I did know the PVS-14 has that short-coming with being mounted on anything larger than 5.56. I do have the head mount to use when shooting though. I just like to have the availability of the mount and it just looks awesome. It would have been nice for the military to have had that design concept in mind when creating an NVG that can be weapon mounted also.

I decided to buy a NEPVS14-17 and shoot it on the the .308 and 5.56 rifles I have. But just after buying it I discovered they do not recomend the PVS14 on .308 rifles even if they are semi-automatic and not bolt action .308 guns. I talked to a supplier who sold two to some guys in Texas who mounted them on shotguns and promptly ruined them.
He said these guys returned them to ITT for warranty and ITT repaired or replaced them but ITT was not told about what really happened.
I bought my SCAR 17 to shoot pigs at night but got scared about trashing my PVS14. I bought a D-740-3AGM, it is recoil rated through .50 BMG.
So the PVS14 mounts on the 5.56 behind the an EoTech on one rifle and an Aimpoint on the other and the SCAR 17 does a total optic swap out from day to night.
The night vision equipment is great and it is awesome to own the night.

How do you like the foregrip / light combo? Is that the Surefire model?
The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You!
I love that foregrip and it's the newer Surefire V-series which has a LED bulb and a bezel ring so you can adjust it from white light to IR without a filter. I love the throw lever mount on it also. If you are looking for a kickass surefire, they have a new one called the 720V. It's not a grip one though.
