Nice... Let me know how that works out. I'd like to use the .223 Elcan I have for my 17 .. I only shoot out to about a 100 yards or so. If it works well within this range i'll use it on the 17. I have been advised that the difference between the 1-4x 5.56 that I own and the 7.62 is negligible until your out to 300 and above. Even then, it is possible to calibrate your hold over variance very easily. If you only shoot to 100, then you will be using the Red Dot or center of the Cross Hairs, not the ballistics tree on the reticle.
